Vance v. Universal Amusement Co.

445 U.S. 308 (1980)

On March 18, 1980, the Supreme Court ruled in Vance v. Universal Amusement Co. that a Texas public nuisance statute permitting prior restraint of allegedly obscene motion pictures without prompt judicial review was unconstitutional.  The Media Coalition filed an amicus brief in this case.
