Media Coalition Foundation Joins Free Speech Organizations in Statement on President Trump’s Effort to Intimidate Book Publisher

Media Coalition Foundation, along with 16 other free speech organizations, signed a statement condemning President Trump’s effort to intimidate a book publisher by threatening legal action. The president sent a letter to Simon & Schuster, asserting that it could be punished if it published the book Unhinged: An Insider Account’s of the Trump White House by Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Media Organizations File Amicus Brief Calling on New York Court of Appeals Not to Rewrite New York Right of Publicity Law

NEW YORK, NY – Ten media organizations have filed an amicus brief in the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court, calling upon the court to reject the requests of actress Lindsay Lohan and reality TV personality Karen Gravano to broaden New York’s right of publicity law in a manner that would violate the First Amendment rights of authors, artists, journalists, publishers, booksellers, filmmakers, librarians and others.
